I decided to build one.
Hi, I'm Ashley Hall, a wife and mom of four incredible kids, and the proud human of two mischievous dogs, Gizzy and Clover. When I'm not juggling the beautiful chaos of family life, you'll usually find me dreaming up magical creatures, uncovering long-forgotten secrets, or wandering the cobblestone streets of a town that exists only in my imagination... until now.
Hearth and Hallow was born from a simple desire: to rediscover the joy, wonder, and childlike magic that first made me fall in love with fantasy. I wanted to create a place that felt real—a place readers could visit, get lost in, and never want to leave. A place where cozy bakeries sit beside enchanted bookshops, mysterious forests whisper old secrets, and every corner holds another story waiting to be discovered.
This world wasn't built alone. My daughter helped shape Caldwell Hallow by creating maps and naming characters, while my husband helped weave together some of the twists and turns that keep readers guessing. In many ways, this story is stitched together with pieces of the people I love most.
Writing Hearth and Hallow has been an incredible adventure, and sharing it with you is the greatest magic of all.
